ZERONA® Laser Treatment

Four separate histological studies were performed to assess the efficacy of laser in the emulsification (liquefaction) of fat. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were utilized to analyze adipose tissue. SEM and TEM images revealed the collapse of adipose arrangements subsequent to laser therapy. The voluminous state of an adipocyte cell is reduced due to the emulsification process. The fatty material is evacuated from the cell and moves into extracellular space. The voluminous nature of adipocytes due to the accumulation of fatty material is what gives rise to an enlarged subcutaneous fat region. ZERONA ® induces the formation of a transitory pore in the membrane of the fat cell. The pore enables the fatty material to seep out across the aperture and into extracellular space.

ZERONA® treatment liquifies the fat and the cell dumps it into the intercellular space. There are two types of fat cells - Subcutaneous and Visceral. Subcutaneous fat is located directly above the skeletal muscle and below the skin.

It's superficial placement is what ensures proper depth penetration of the laser energy. Patients containing a high volume of visceral fat (fat below the skeletal muscle) are not ideal candidates for this procedure. However, they may still contain subcutaneous fat; therefore, you can treat the individual by just ensuring they adopt a healthy diet to address the visceral fat.

HCG Diet

HCG full name is human chorionic gonadotrophin. It is a glycoprotein hormone that a pregnant woman has which was developed by an embryo after the actual conception and by a part of the placenta in a much later process.

The HCG treatment consists of a very low calorie diet (VLCD) in combination with HCG hormone treatments.

During the treatment, you will regularly take a small amount of HCG daily. Be aware that the HCG itself does not cause weight loss; it modifies your eating behavior. The low calorie diet and HCG combined is what helps with weight loss, making it possible to maintain the diet. We will give you the details of a low calorie, low fat and practically starch free diet to obtain optimum results.

HCG helps to burn the “mobile fat”; that is the fat that is stored around the hips, thighs, belly and upper arms. It will however leave the so called “structural fat” that can be found in the muscles and protects the organs, untouched. This way the excess fat will disappear even faster, the problem areas will be dealt with more efficiently and this way of losing weight.

How Can HCG help me?

HCG is a natural hormone/protein substance that helps burn off unneeded excess fat on your thighs, hips, belly, and upper arms and changes the way you eat.

Our HCG drops are homeopathic, so they are safe and have virtually no side effects. HCG has been around for over 50 years, so HCG information is abundant and documented.

HCG modifies the way you eat and changes your appetite by resetting your hypothalamus, so you can easily maintain the low-calorie diet we recommend through our VLCD program.

You’ll get all the nutrients your body needs, feel full, and develop the healthy eating habits you’ve always wanted!

Interpretation of BMI for Adults

A BMI of 30 to 40 is obese in adults 20 years of age and older, according to the National Institutes of Health, and a score over 40 is extremely obese. A normal BMI for adults falls in the range of 18.5 to 24.9. Below 18.5 is underweight and 25 to 29.9 is overweight.  According to the CDC, as of 2009, 42 states in the U.S. have an obesity rate greater than 25 percent of the population. Obesity can lead to a myriad of cardiovascular, metabolic and orthopedic diseases. But the obesity epidemic can be rectified with diet and exercise.

Identification

A very low-calorie diet is a strictly reduced diet.   Persons on a very low-calorie diet consume only about 500-800 calories per day. This is 400 calories less for women and 700 calories less for men than the recommended caloric restriction for weight loss by the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute.  With our program you will be closely monitored by a licensed practitioner.

Benefits

There are certain benefits from a very low-calorie diet. This type of diet should only be prescribed for a person that is moderately or severely obese. Consuming only 500-800 calories per day can lead to a weight loss of 3 to 5 lbs. per week, according the National Institutes of Health. For a 12-week plan, this can be a weight loss of up to 60 lbs. This kind of weight loss can significantly improve certain conditions for an obese person, like cardiovascular disease or diabetes. Similarly, there are times when an obese person is in need of a life-saving surgery, but it cannot be done due to the risks associated with his weight. A rapid weight loss could lead to a timely intervention. Furthermore, weight loss and positive results lead to motivation. While a very low-calorie diet cannot be adhered to in the long-term, it can motivate a person to lead a healthier lifestyle.

Side Effects

There are potential side effects to every quick fix. According to the National Institutes of Health, individuals on a very low-calorie diet have complained of fatigue, constipation, nausea and diarrhea. Gallstones are another side effect of quick weight loss.

Exercise

Exercise should be a part of any good weight-loss program. However, a very low-calorie diet can make it dangerous to exercise. Without enough fuel, and due to the likelihood of diabetes in obese persons, exercise should be done cautiously. A report published in "Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise" by Joseph E. Donnelly and colleagues in 2009 stresses the importance of exercise on weight loss and maintenance. Physical activity, adding up to 150 to 200 minutes per week, done at a moderate intensity will improve weight loss and prevent regain for individuals on a moderately restricted caloric diet, but not for those on a very low-calorie diet.
